The spark of shopping different.

Notebooks and Art shopping at Found in Kerrytown

A counterculture has been brewing. Where do we spend our money and who do we support?

Over the years of shopping and travels we have directed our dollars to support independent-owned businesses over big box stores as much as we can. Now we want to help others find shopping inspiration and learn to spend with community impact. And what better place to start with the addition of our home town of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Shopping often feels overwhelming, and when we're overwhelmed, we just fall back into our old comfortable routines and take the easy path.

We asked ourselves, how could we help give people the information they need to be more connected to local businesses and community? There are so many incredible places in your backyard to shop for what you need. Sometimes you just need the right guide to spark a change.

The movement changed for us with the closing of Jo-Ann Fabrics. It’s a huge loss for anyone in the arts and crafting community, especially those who have lost their small local shops that carry the same kind of products.

We hope one day this spark will create a larger community.
